Free Rice

Do you ever find yourself mindlessly playing a computer game and feeling like you have just wasted a huge amount of time? It happens all the time; one minute you're playing solitaire or mine sweep and then the next thing you know 20 mins has gone by and you have nothing to show for it. Well, here is the answer...FreeRice.com. It's a game but its a game with a cause. Basically you test your vocabulary skills to reach higher levels and with each word you get correct, the advertisers for FreeRice donate the equivalent of 20 grains of rice. You can see it build up in your little bowl. It makes you smarter and it helps the world. You can't lose.

The game was developed by computer programmer, John Breen, in and effort to help his son prep for the SATs. And though I'm sure its helped his son, it has also helped many other people. According to USA Today, players of FreeRice have donated over 15 billion grains of rice! That's enough to feed over 700,000 people for one day...and that's just since October 2007.

So here's your chance...go have some fun, get smarter, and help end world hunger at the same time!

…Wanna play another game? ;)

I take the opportunity of this article to present answer4earth .
Along the same lines of Freerice, it’s about general knowledge… and it's great!
