Tonight I would like to share a inspirational story of a group of people making a positive change in the communities that they live. The Verde Coalition is a nonprofit group based out of Los Angeles California. They started the Community Living Room project that turns neglected lots of land such as street medians, bus stops and neglected parks into outdoor living rooms. These living rooms provide as a escape to the hustle and bustle of of city life. As of this moment twelve community living rooms have been developed with a possible move by the City of Los Angeles to fund 1,000 more outdoor living rooms. Maybe there's neglected areas in your community that are in need of attention. Why not use the Verde Coalition as a template of what you can do in your community.
